EMBLEM DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION OF THE COLLEGE EMBLEM
Our emblem illustrates our foundation and focus. It is a symbolic statement of the college's identity and mission in contemporary form.
The shield represents faith in God. It symbolizes God as our refuge and strength.
The cross, the universal and most ecumenical symbol of the Christian church, stands for the sacrifice and incarnate love of God in Jesus Christ. The cross was chosen as the overall form and model for our mission that is to be undertaken with a 'crucified mind'
The cross also stands for 'T' to complete the abbreviation 'MTC' the full form of which is Missionary Training College.
The descending dove, a symbol of the Holy Spirit, indicates the presence and work of the Holy Spirit which is central to our lives and mission. It also represents the peace and wholeness which Christ brings to a broken world,
The open Bible on top of the shield symbolizes the Holy Scriptures as the Word of God for all humanity, the only infallible rule of faith and duty.
The symbol of flames upon the open Bible symbolizes Christ as the Light of the World. There is no way that we can fulfill our mission apart from pointing people to the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the magnificent vision of God.
The three tongues of flame symbolize the gift of the Holy Spirit as well as our experience of God as the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
The motto written upon the shield reads in Latin 'Fiat lux.' It means 'Let there be light.' It is symbolic of our strive towards enlightenment within ourselves and our responsibility to bring the gospel of light in the world of darkness.
The multi-coloured cloth on the shield called 'puanchei,' which is one of the most beautiful and most valued dresses worn by Mizo girls, represents the Mizo cultural heritage as well as our humble recognition of cultural plurality in the world.
Gold colour in pattern represents holiness. It also refers to worth, virtue, the glory of God and the Christian might.
Green colour represents the value of life and the triumph of life over death. It also signifies the hope and growth in the Christian life as well as our concern for God's creation
